And just recently, they had taken a notch higher to satisfy their customers more specifically in the realm of portability. And that is the released of the Sony PRS-505/LC Blue Digital Book Reader.

The Sony PRS-505 is in fact a close match to Amazon’s Kindle e-book reader. In fact, this is something that can go head to head to the latter technology. With that said, allow me to give its general overview. You might even be surprised how beneficial this piece of tiny gadget will do for you.

* Portability. Like the rest of the e-book readers available in the market, the Sony PRS-505/LC Blue Digital Book Reader also focuses on portability in terms of its size. This measures approximately 175mm x 122mm x 8mm. Much more it only weighs 9oz without its soft cover.

* Readability. Unlike other e-book reader with little screens compromising the e-book’s readability, the Sony PRS 505 on the other hand don’t. It has an excellent high-contrast screen suitable for printed pages. Even with a quite bright environment, it still is easy to read. It has a stunning screen with sharp E-Ink technology.

* Features. This is another asset of the Sony PRS-505/LC Blue Digital Book Reader. It can actually hold up to 7,500 page given if its full charge. It even has an integrated eBookstore that holds at least 20,000 titles. By default it has a 128MB internal memory but with an expandable 10GB of storage. Imagine how many books you can store!

* Support. Aside from the usual .pdf formats of millions of circulating e-books, the Sony PRS-505 also caters to more text formats, audio and photo files. It can read EPUB ebook, BBeb Book, Word documents, TXT and RTF. For the audio it can play mp3 and AAC. For that image viewing, it can readily show pictures with JPEG, GIF, PNG and BMP extensions. Much more it can turn printed text into spoken words. A convenient way to finish a book without reading.

* Ease of use. The navigation buttons of the said reader is in fact convenient even for first timers. The buttons run along the right and bottom side of the reader. The menu is on the right side that pops more options and other features. You can access files, bookmarks and last page visited through the help of the menu. There are also numbered buttons and scroll wheel for other choices.

These are just but a general overview of the Sony PRS-505/LC Blue Digital Book Reader. In fact, it still contains more that even I was surprised to know. With its tag price of at least $250 this is indeed a great and a viable must have purchase.
