There are already a handful of e-book readers being advertised in the market today. At first look they are indeed good in serving what they are supposed to do. And that is giving its consumers the convenience and portability they deserve. No wonder, these gadgets are always a great hit in the market. And during the holidays, these are wonderful presents you can give to a bookworm friend or that special someone. One gadget that surpass of what’s expected is the Ectaco Jetbook e-book reader.

Ectaco, a trusted company for hardware and software innovation particularly in translation devices had released in March of last year an electronic reading device. It was then named Jetbook. With such an experience under their belt, they had managed to insert good design and unique modernism to this new device of theirs. In spite of diving into the market with loads of competitors, the Ectaco Jetbook e-book reader has loads of unique features. Thus, making this a truly marketable device.

Here are a few of features that you might find interesting and unique in Jetbook. Beside of which are also a few explanations that will enlighten you with more facts.

•    Portability feature. The Jetbook is definitely true to its purpose. The reader is small and it is definitely thin. The screen size is an ample and good 5 inches. The whole gadget measures 6” x 4.25” x 38”. It only weighs 7.5 ounces. Thus, it can fit in any case and in any pocket. Perfect for on the go readers.

•    Ease of usage. The Jetbook employs not only mobility and portability to its users but also ease of use. There are two buttons on the bottom left corner that are used to turn pages backward and forward. There’s also a slide bar for easy up and down of a certain e-book. Numbers 0 to 9 are also included so are the letters like the ones seen in mobile phones.

•    Supported formats. Electronic books are not the only ones you can store and view in your Jetbook. In fact it can also support mp3 for those music genes in you. An earphone is always included with a purchase to give you such convenience. It can also store pictures supporting jpg formats. Much more it can also read pdf and txt.

•    Other useful features. Aside from being a reader, the Ectaco Jetbook also contains other useful features. One of which is a built in dictionary. In a simple press of the menu button you can easily navigate through its dictionary and easily go back to the page that you left. The screen in addition is so crisp and clear that even without a backlight you can easily read through the pages and look at pictures.

With all these and more under the Jetbook’s umbrella, you definitely don’t want to be left out without having this. If you are an avid reader, this is surely your perfect companion.
